Bachan's Take Out Reviews

Nice Teriyaki spot. The chicken was good. They offer 3 different meal sizes. I love that. Great price! They also sell Dole Whip! I recommend looking at menu in my photos And calling in to order. I came for dinner during their soft opening at this new location and it was busy.. I can only imagine it will only get more packed, cuz we all know how much we needed a new teriyaki spot in this side of town. I wish they would maybe increase the rice to meat ratio. My kids and I noticed that it was a very small scoop of rice.

Delicious food and very nice owners! We had teriyaki chicken, macaroni salad and rice for lunch today and loved every bite. Looking forward to eating here again in the future - thank you!

A gem in Monterey Park! Fresh ingredients and generous portions. My go to orders are the short ribs and the ahi tuna plate, and my husband loves the sweet chili chicken but everything is so good! 10/10

Delicious food in a family friendly environment. Everything I've tried here has been yummy! The extra yum, is their furikake. You will most definitely return.

I remember I use to have this for lunch when I used to work near their old location in Rosemead. Haven’t had them in about 8-9 years and this place still taste amazing!! You get a little more food for the price which is well worth it. I’ll be back again when I’m in town! Appreciate the old memories and delicious food!

Very filling plates! The meat was tender. The sauces were good and aplenty. Portions are fair for the price. New location next to Bomb chicken on Garfield. Parking lot seems to get busy during peak times but there’s a neighborhood and the main streets you can always park along as well. Inside has plenty of seating, esp great for big groups or families. Lots of booster seats and high chairs available. No outdoor seating. It’s a casual local vibe here. Salmon wasn’t over cooked. Beef was flavorful. Soba was refreshing on a hot day! The soba sauce was a little lemon-y which I loved! A medium plate was more than enough for me. I wish they opened later because this would be a great dinner option. Great lunch option if you are nearby!

We had take-out orders but Hawaiian/Polynesian theme Indoor dining is also available. Prices are reasonable and the food was good, fresh, and prepared to order. We waited less than 10 minutes to get our food. It’s good to see the menu posted on the front was outside of the restaurant.
Bachan's Take Out
Bachan’s Take Out is located at 2300 South Garfield Ave, Monterey Park, CA 91754. It's a Hawaiian‑Japanese take‑out gem that doubles as a cozy dine‑in spot and dessert stand . When I first dropped by, I ordered the Furikake Crusted Ahi plate with wasabi aioli—tender, flavorful, and paired perfectly with rice and a crisp green salad (~$11.30) . That experience defined what “fresh fusion” truly means.

Family-Owned Tradition and Community Roots at Bachan’s Take Out
This is a mom‑and‑pop brand rooted in the SGV community. The restaurant moved from old Rosemead location and reopened at Garfield Ave a few months before the unfortunate Monterey Park shooting; yet locals welcomed them and then supported them with grants to rebuild their business presence .

If you’re watching your intake, they offer cold soba salad with shrimp, green salad, and mac salad alongside rice dishes . Health-focused eaters appreciate the pescatarian plates (like salmon and ahi) and whole‑portion control via ‘mini’ and ‘medium’ plates. Tried the salmon teriyaki plate with a side order of soba noodles. The salmon was not tender but still quite decent, the macaroni salad was delicious and the soba noodles very refreshing(wish the soba dipping sauce was less citrusy) I will definitely come again to try their chicken teriyaki and mahi mahi
